INQUIRE-INSPIRE-IMPACT
INQUIRE
The first aspect of the BMU way of teaching is to make learners curious about the subjects they are taught because curiosity and inquiry inspire enriching learning experiences. Inquiry-based learning engages and stimulates modern learners like nothing else. So, the primary aspect of teaching philosophy at BMU is to have professors endeavour to –
- Encourage the learners to ask the questions: Questions inspire a quest for knowledge and discovery. BMU endeavours to provide opportunities to the students that provoke deep questions that foster meaningful exploration of the subject.
- Encourage the learners to find the answers and possibilities: BMU ignites their sense of inquiry by exposing them to find the answers themselves. BMU is their guide by the side, not the sage on the stage.
INSPIRE
The second aspect is to inspire the students to pursue the discipline they are passionate about –
- With faculty’s applied research positively impacting people, profit, and the planet, we inspire the students to contribute positively to the discipline and society.
IMPACT
The third aspect is to teach in such a manner that the impact of it lasts for a lifetime.
So, to leave an impact and enthuse the students to be lifelong learners, BMU’s teaching style is more about “what students do in the class” than “what teachers do in the class.” Deploying pedagogical innovations to bring about the highest possible level of experiential learning in the classrooms is fundamental to BMU’s teaching style.
