4th SoLS Conversations, Bridging Design for a Better World and Liberal Studies

We recently concluded the 4th SoLS Conversations, Bridging Design for a Better World and Liberal Studies, where key takeaways highlighted the need to reimagine the role of education in today’s world. Panelists emphasised the rigidity of traditional academic disciplines, with faculty often stuck in roles that reinforce boundaries rather than encourage interdisciplinary collaboration.

The discussions centered on the necessity of inspiring younger generations to challenge outdated systems, as this fearless questioning offers hope for real change. The path to a better world requires ongoing dialogue and collaborative actions across disciplines, aiming to transform education into a force for social justice, sustainability, and meaningful impact.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our esteemed speakers: Don Norman, world-renowned author and founding director of The Design Lab at UC San Diego, Prof. Shyam Menon, Vice Chancellor at BML Munjal University, M. S. Farooqi, Professor of Social Entrepreneurship, and Suchitra Balasubrahmanyan, Visiting Professor at Nirma University. Your insights were truly invaluable!
