    Post-structuralist critiques of mental health took Anup Dhar, who has a training in medicine, to an engagement with Lacanian psychoanalysis. Postcolonial-decolonial critiques of the Left took him to a rethinking of the ‘political’. Rethought psychoanalysis and the rethought political came to dialogue in his (action) research through the perspective of Practical Philosophy and medieval Sahajiya. He is a former Professor of Psychology (2011-2017) and Professor of Philosophy (2018-2021). He was also Director, Centre for Development Practice (2013-2021). He has been and is currently a Fellow at The Hans Kilian and Lotte Köhler Center (KKC) for Cultural Psychology and Historical Anthropology, Department of Social Theory and Social Psychology, Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany (2022, 2023). He has to his credit 10 books and monographs and has published more than 80 papers. He is currently completing a book on Girindrasekhar Bose titled aboriginal psychoanalysis. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Rethinking Marxism and is Section Editor of ReMarx. He is the Editor of the Journal of Practical Philosophy (http://practicalphilosophy.co.in/).
