Dr Nandita Choudhury has more than 15 years of experience in academics. She completed her PhD from Lucknow University in English Literary Criticism. She is a Post Graduate in English Literature from Guwahati University. Dr Choudhury was an Associate Professor in the area of Language and Communication in Dronacharya College of Engineering. Prior to that, she taught in Brainware Group of Institutions under West Bengal University of Technology. She was associated with Nirma University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Maths and Humanities. She has also been a visiting faculty at Nirma Institute of Management, teaching a course on Business Communication.
Her areas of interest in teaching and research include, Language and Literature, Communication Theory, Technical Writing, Inter-Personal and Cross-cultural communication. In addition to her academic activities, Dr. Choudhury has been a corporate and soft skills trainer conducting training workshops and programs for various organizations and institutions. She has conducted training and organized workshops for English school teachers of Gujarat. She has published and presented papers in international and Indian journals and conferences. Dr. Choudhury has had industry experience in the field of Medical Transcription and Editing & Content Writing. She has developed a Post-graduate Diploma course in Communicative English and Soft Skills comprising four comprehensive modules for Engineering, IT and Management professionals.
Her motto in teaching is to mentor, engage, motivate and stimulate her students even beyond the classrooms. She had been a member of Board of Studies in Nirma University and was involved in curriculum design and development. As a faculty coordinator in III Cell (Institute Industry Initiative) of Nirma University, she was involved in mentoring and training students making them ‘placement ready’ and it is something which she intends to pursue actively in BML Munjal University as well. Dr. Choudhury loves travelling, trekking, and visiting wildlife sanctuaries.
