About Sankalp
SANKALP is a Social Enterprises for Community Development Projects by the students at BMU. It is a credit course where the students are sensitized to human values in their MBA program. The SANKALP Social Entrepreneurship Project at BML Munjal University aims to turn the tide with a unique opportunity to enable women entrepreneurs from rural India to gain access to skills, resources, and mentorship for setting up and scaling their businesses. These women are being economically empowered by this initiative while simultaneously contributing to social inclusion and overall community development.
Sankalp provides students with an immediate sense of the struggles that people from the lowest socioeconomic strata go through and imparts them empathy, in addition to a qualitative understanding about lives in rural areas. It gives students a full-blown hands-on experience and in getting to link their theoretical part of learning with the practical projects.

Sankalp has a potential to make huge positive impacts on local communities who are wrestling with numerous socio-economic challenges. With a positive impact on financial independence, economic self-sufficiency and the empowerment of women in general this program is designed to reach out and support female entrepreneurs. In turn, this helps increase the standard of living and access to education and healthcare in these areas with a reduction in gender-based inequalities within them.
