Internships in top Corporates for first batch of BMU students
While academics are undoubtedly important, at BMU we believe that there can be no substitute for experiential
hands-on learning. This reinforces what has been taught in class and enables a smooth, seamless transition from the university to the corporate world.
The final assessment of every BMU student has a significant weightage for experiential learning, and an important component of this learning is the Summer Internship. We are happy to report that our first batch of MBA students has completed internships at top-notch organizations such as Siemens, Forbes Marshall, Yes Bank, Cargill Foods, Blue Hive, Hurom, Grasim (Aditya Birla Group), and Hero MotoCorp.
100% of our students were placed well before the commencement of this 8-week training and we, regretfully, we're unable to meet the needs of some corporates. The projects our students have worked on cover the broad areas of
Marketing, Finance and HR and there is considerable variation in each. Internships were highly structured with mentoring by both the host organization as well as by BMU faculty. Reporting was mandatory after the 1st, 4th, and 6th weeks for all interns. This ensured that course corrections if needed were carried out well in time.
At the end of the internship, the host organization evaluated the student as well as provided feedback. All students will be required to make a presentation to their entire MBA class as well as faculty. This will ensure cross-learning even from organizations that students did not personally intern with.
Practice School for B.Tech students
Practice School is a rigorous and disciplined method of imparting practical training to our BTech students. It is spread over three distinct modules at the end of years 1, 2, and 3. The first module is for 1 week, the second for 8 weeks, and the final one for 22 weeks. Practice School has a high weight-age in the curriculum as well as the final grades. The training is monitored both by industry experts as well as faculty.
Various prestigious corporates participated in Practice School 1. These included Coca-Cola, Moser Baer, Carrier, and Munjal Showa. We believe these internships will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth transition from BMU to the corporate world.
